Tornado’s Rip’s Through Bensalem



A devastating tornado touched down in Bensalem Township Thursday night destroying a car dealership and causing massive damage in its wake the municipality.
According to the National Weather Service, the gale landed in the area of Old Lincoln Highway between Street and Horizon Roads.



Soon there after Bensalem Police declared “a mass casualty incident” as the roof was of a car dealership was was ripped of the building.
Images of Faulkner dealership where severe building damage was reported to six buildings images of the devastated began to appear on social media, showing vehicles flipped over, windows shattered, and a roof caved in on at least one structure, as first reponders tended to those injured.
Bensalem’s Public Safety Director Fred Harran said, five people were injured but none seriously. he noted at a press conference last night.
Township officials established a emergency evacuation center in the Neshaminy Mall.
The tornadic event, comes on the heels of a flood emergency swamping the township 10 days ago.
