If you were looking for a break from the steamy weather, it won’t be happening today, forecasters at the National Weather Service (NWS), say.
Early Tuesday morning, the service issued a heat advisory for the Philadelphia region lasting until 8 p.m. tonight.
Temperatures are expected to rise to the low 90’s with a heat index values peaking at 100 degrees.
The synergistic impact of high temperatures and humidity levels could result in heat related issues for older adults and those with health issues.
Forecasters did say there is a 50 % chance of showers in the afternoon and early evening.
NWS suggests drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air conditioned rooms, and keep exposure to heat at a minimum.
Please check in with your older neighbors especially those with pets as they may need help today.
As a general reminder, NWS says children and pets should not be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstance.
