A local woman faces a series of criminal charges following a violent domestic dispute that left an apartment severely damaged and a victim hospitalized with multiple injuries, according to Falls Township police .
Matilda Oglesby, 37, is accused of assaulting an on-again, off-again romantic partner during an argument that began around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26.
Corporal Nicole White initiated the investigation the following evening, Wednesday, May 27, after responding to Jefferson Bucks Hospital on North Oxford Valley Road to interview the victim.

According to the criminal complaint, the confrontation began when Oglesby, who is from Somerville, NJ, arrived at the undisclosed residence for a planned breakfast date and began questioning the victim about another relationship. The dispute quickly turned destructive. Investigators said Oglesby used a cigar to burn holes in clothing hanging inside a closet, flipped furniture, threw household items, and poured multiple bottles of wine across the floors, walls, and personal property.
The confrontation escalated into severe physical violence, police said.
Oglesby, according to police, allegedly punched the victim multiple times in the face and ear, pinned her against a wall, and threw a coffee mug at her. Oglesby then allegedly climbed on top of the victim, placed her hands around the victim’s neck, and dug her nails into her skin.
In a subsequent struggle, Oglesby allegedly pressed her forearm against the victim’s face and neck, restricting her breathing. During the assault, Oglesby reportedly told the victim that she wished the victim would fight back so she could inflict more harm. Before fleeing the scene, Oglesby allegedly stole the victim’s driver’s license, medical insurance card, one credit card, and two debit cards from her wallet.

Corporal White reported observing extensive physical evidence of the assault at the hospital, including facial swelling, redness and scratches around the neck and chest, and severe bruising on both arms and legs.
Oglesby was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge John T. Galloway. Judge Galloway set bail at $10,000 unsecured, allowing the defendant to remain free ahead of her next court appearance scheduled for August 4 at the District Court in Falls Township. She is represented by Ellis B. Klein, Esq., according to online court records.
