Bensalem Police arrested an intoxicated man at CVS after he assaulted a police officer, according to court records.
According to the criminal docket, police were informed that suspect Mark Golic threw objects at passing vehicles on Aug. 1 at the CVS store located at 3811 Neshaminy Blvd.
Police found Golic in the parking lot across from the CVS, disheveled, sweating profusely, and reeking of alcohol.
Golic was acting erratic, had bloodshot/watery eyes and was rambling, police said.
Golic was then arrested for public intoxication. When officers put handcuffs on Golic, he pulled away and twisted his body in an attempt to get face-to-face with the officers while cursing at them.
Golic then spit in the face of one of the officers, according to court records.
During a search, police found alleged fentanyl in Golic’s pants pocket.
Golic’s erratic behavior continued after he was placed in a police vehicle. He repeatedly banged his head against the police vehicle’s back window. Once at Bensalem Police HQ, he needed to be secured in a restraint chair, police wrote in court papers.
This isn’t Golic’s first time being charged with intoxication. He’s been arrested before on similar charges as far back as 2019.
Back in June of this year Golic was arrested for public drunkenness and similar offenses, with the charges being served in Judge Gallagher’s courthouse.
District Judge Joseph Falcone arraigned Golic on assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and related offenses with an August 13 court date. Bail was set at 10 percent of $200,000.00 and without being able to post bail, Golic was remanded to the county jail and currently has no attorney of record, according to online court records.
