The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) recently announced all County Assistance Offices, and the DHS Customer Service Center, and the PA DHS Helpline currently have delayed openings to the public of 11:00 a.m. on Thursdays.
Starting Nov. 5, 2026, they will have a delayed opening of 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays
DHS officials said community members will not be able to enter offices and calls will not be accepted before 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays due to staff training.
The trainings, a DHS source told Lower Bucks Source, are directly related to the newly implemented medicaid reporting rules in effect. The changes have produced a need for additional in service seminars, so caseworkers can more effectively manage their caseloads and understand the voluminous new reporting rules.
Hours of operation for the other days of the week will not be impacted, said officials.
DHS sad the Thursday delayed openings will continue for the foreseeable future.
Individuals can still submit an application or renewal, report a change, submit verification documents, and more anytime online at dhs.pa.gov/COMPASS
