A trash truck burs into a ball of flames Monday afternoon in Falls Township.
According to the Falls Twp Fire Department, Station 30, the Waste Management garbage hauler caught fire in the area of Tyburn Road and Route 13 just after 1:30 pm.
Firefighters from Station 30 were dispatched for a reported trash truck on fire in the area of Tyburn Road along with Chief 30 on scene.
Fist responders on scene said the truck to be a well involved fire with an onboard compressed natural gas tank venting, fueling the blaze.
Rescue 30 arrived on scene and went in service with two 1 3/4โ lines to both cool the tank, as well as make a quick knock of the fire, said fire officials
Engine 30 arrived shortly after and supplied Rescue 30 with water. Station 31 assisted with both their Engine and Ladder, which was later used for its elevated master stream device since the contents of the truck were unable to be dumped, a release said.
Crews were in service for close to three hours. and no injuries were reported.
