She’s not the “LA Woman” Jim Morrison wrote about many years, but Gabrielle Louise Conte, 28, was charged for assaulting Middlletown Township Police officers in an incident stemming from her being parked in the middle of a township street on Thursday night.
Police say Conte, from Los Angeles, Ca, struck officers when they tried to take her into custody.
According to court documents, Conte was parked in the middle of East Lincoln Highway after 8 p.m. Police said when they approached her they noticed glassy red eyes, the odor of alcohol, and slurred speech. As officers attempted to engage Conte she became extremely irate and screamed at police “just take me”, according to the criminal complaint.
Conte refused to answer questions and continued yelling at officers court records show.
Conte grabbed an officer by the groin when police tried to handcuff her, not letting go, police said.
Conte continued with her verbal attack on officers while handcuffed as they tried to search her pockets. The woman from California attempted to kick an officer in the face, missing, instead connecting with his chest and arms, police allege.
Conte, police said, was taken to a local medical facility for a blood alcohol test which she refused and continued with her alcohol infused verbal assault on police.
On the ride to police headquarters Conte, got on to the floor of the police cruiser which forced the officer to pull over, court documents allege. Officers tried to get her up off the floor, she kicked one of them in the face requiring placement in a “restraint vehicle” and while in the station spit in an officers face.
Conte is charged with two felony counts of assaulting of police officer, one felony count of aggravated prisoner harassment, two DUI offenses and three charges of resisting arrest. She was jailed on 10 percent of $200,000.00 and is currently scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 12 in district court
