A Bristol Township man is accused of stabbing his ex girlfriend late Saturday night by Bristol Township Police.

According to police, the stabbing was the result of a violent domestic dispute on the 1700 block of Spencer Drive when officers were dispatched to the residence.

Lt Ralph Johnson said Sunday the investigation revealed  John Hargrove, 63  stabbed the victim with a meat fork sustaining two defensive wounds to each of her arms.

The victim told police, Hargrove was trying to stab her in the chest, police said, while saying he was “going to kill” her.

According to the court filing, Hargrove was upset the victim would not sleep in the same room with him, choosing to sleep  in a separate area of the residence. The suspect confronted his “estranged” girlfriend in the kitchen area and grabbed the meat fork from, attempting to stab her in the chest. The victim attempted to grab the weapon from her ex  as he stabbed her while rolling around on the floor.

In court paperwork, police said Hargrove attempted to hide a bloody shirt while investigators were on scene.

Police noted “a large amount of blood” on the victim’s bedding and Hargrove’s pants. Both items were collected and tagged as evidence.

Hargrove was arrested and charged with aggravated assault  and related offenses according to court documents.

He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Lisa J. Gaier early Sunday morning.

Hargrove was sent to Bucks County Jail on 10 percent of $25,000.00 bail. He is currently scheduled to appear in Bristol Borough District Court on April 20 to answer to the charges.
