Bristol Borough School District officials announced an effort to bring additional resources to families and their children through a grant application to Bucks County.
Kelli Rosado, Principal of Snyder- Girotti Elementary said at a recent bard meeting of parents sent out, with regards to the social and emotional issues pointed to needs of families in the district
The survey is part of an effort we put forth in applying for a grant through the county which is called Family First she which comes through Children and Youth and the Department of Human Services, she said.
We want to form a task force with the help of local families that will bring more resources to the school district, Rosado said.
There were 153 responses to the survey and many of the respondents said services linking them to housing, food, behavioral wellness, individual counseling and employment services were just some noted in the survey responses, Rosado said.
“Our hope is to use the school (Snyder Girotti Elementary ) as a hub to bring folks to provide services in the evening so transportation is not an issue for anyone”
The hope, she said, is to have the effort in place by the beginning of the next school year in the fall.
We want to help families navigate these systems which at times can be challenging at times by bringing representatives in to help out families, Rosado said.
