A Bristol Township man accused of terrorizing a Croydon family since last year, had his charges held over with two counts of aggravated assault added by the Bucks County District Attorney’s office in preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Tyler Perkins, will most likely spend his 21st Birthday behind bars at Bucks County Prison as District Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr. ruled the Commonwealth had met its burden to sustain the original nine offenses, plus the two other charges added just before yesterday’s preliminary hearing.
Prosecutors said the additional charges were added after reviewing the case file and could be added prior to the beginning of Wednesday’s hearing.
The Croydon man was charged and jailed in March on one felony count of carrying a gun without a license, one count of discharging a weapon into a home, two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of assault.
It was his third arrest for his reign of terror related to the victim and family members.
Evidence and testimony presented Wednesday included video from the victim’s surveillance cameras and still images, provided to Bristol Township Police.
According to court records, while filing a police report on October 26 against Perkins he drove by the victims home pointing a fire am at a second family member on the 2000 block of Colonial Drive. Perkins, police say, later that day, fired at least two rounds in the direction of victims as they scattered for safety.
Police say at the time of the gun fire a toddler was sitting in a infant swing just feet from the from doorway where the alleged bullets shattered the front door and glass fro the front of the home.
On the stand the victim testified Perkins was terrorizing her family because of a domestic dispute between a friend of his and her “daughter in law.”
When asked by the Assistant District Attorney if anyone was injured due to the alleged shooting she said ” no one was hurt thank God.”
Perkins was jailed and later bailed out in January charged with criminal mischief, stalking, terroristic threats, and harassment in the first case filed by Bristol Twp authorities against him.
He pleaded guilty earlier this month in the January case, according to online court records.
Prior to the hearing ending Judge Peranteau reminded Perkins he was to have no contact with the victims at anytime or try to intimidate witnesses.
Perkins next court date is in Doylestown for his formal arraignment on June 24.
