The two women accused of attacking a local business owner, an off duty police officer and responding officers waived their right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday at Bristol Borough District Court, according to online court records.
Vanessa Boggi, 46 of Bristol and Lori Coffman, 52 of Philadelphia waived their hearings yesterday, charged with two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and two related summary offenses. for a brawl that, police say, started at Naked Brewing late last year.
When police arrived on scene responding to a “fighting in the street call” Vanessa Boggi, 41 of Bristol and Lori Coffman, 51 of Philadelphia were fighting, cursing and screaming at off duty Bristol Borough Police officer Mike Levitsky, according to the criminal complaint.
Levitsky said he was drinking at the brewery when the suspects asked him a question about a local business. Coffman allegedly began to scream and yell at him about a past arrest he was involved in. During this interaction Boggi allegedly bumped the off duty officer three times and he then walked away. The business owner then began to escort both women out. Once outside, Levitsky said, he could hear yelling and screaming he became concerned for the owners safety. Subsequently he went out outside and saw the two suspects attacking the owner. He identified himself as a police officer loudly and tried to stop the attack. Levitsky, said Boggi punched him in the face as he tried to restrain her, and bit him on the neck, court records allege.
The alcohol infused attack also included Boggi punching an officer in the face, and Coffman kicking a second officer in the leg, as he tried to place her under arrest.
After both women were taken to Police Headquarters they were so drunk they couldn’t be processed a public safety source told this news publication.
Boggi, and Coffman next court appearance is scheduled for July 25 at the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas for formal arraignment.
