Cops: Falls Man Imprisons Ex Girlfriend for 2 Hours demanding Answers about New Boy Friend

Falls Township Police say a custody exchange went completely sideways last week when a father falsely imprisoned his ex-girlfriend threatening to harm her over a two hour  period.

Police charged Daniel Nyari, 37 of Fairless Hills with false imprisonment, simple assault, and harassment for the incident occurring on February 20 where he kept his ex-girlfriend from leaving his home for two hours, taking her cell phone and car keys.

Police say the victim, who shares custody of two children with Nyari, showed up at the suspects residence to drop off the children they parent together a little after 6:30 p.m. The victim told police, she knocked on the door of Nyari’s home and when he opened the door he grabbed her, pulling her into the residence locking the door behind them.

Once inside, police say, Nyari “gripped her up putting his hand over mouth in an attempt to keep her quiet.”

Nyari then proceeded to interrogate the victim about her new boyfriend demanding answers about her new relationship and if she didn’t provide then he would physically harm her, the criminal complaint said. Nyari continued with his interrogation and when the victim didn’t answer, he “smacked her in the face,” court documents said.

The victim told police she tried to leave the residence several times but Nyari would push her down or block her path to the door, screaming that she be allowed to leave. Nyari refused to allow free passage, police say.

Police noted in the criminal complaint the victims face was swollen and red with bruising to arms from Nyari grabbing her.

Nyari is scheduled to appear on February 24 to answer to the charges.
