A Friday night accident involving a van owned by Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need (AHTN) transporting eight people from a local Church dinner was smashed into on New Falls Road sending a total of 11 people to the area hospitals.
The preliminary investigation found a transport van was in the right lane traveling through the intersection when it was struck by a 2018 Toyota Highlander, which was attempting to complete a left turn onto New Falls Road, said Lt Chris Clark
Alcohol, drugs or a medical emergency are not believed to be factors in causation, Clark said.
The AHTN van was transporting a group from a Church dinner provided by St John the Evangelist in Morrisville. according to the organization’s website.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:50 PM, at the intersection of Tyburn and New Falls Roads.
Responding officers found the Toyota, operated by a 53 year-old female resident of Levittown, stopped in the middle of the intersection with significant front end damage and multiple airbag deployment. The other involved vehicle was located off the roadway into the tree line on New Falls Road.

The second vehicle was found to be a 2017 Ford Transit 350 van, operated by a 77 year old female resident of Levittown.
The 15 person transit van had sustained significant damage to the driver side front quarter panel, door, and rear passenger compartment along with multiple airbag deployment, investigators said.
All of the passengers in the van reside at the Bucks County Emergency Shelter operated by Family Services Association at 7 Library Way, police said.
After checking in with medical personnel at area hospitals Saturday night it is not believed there will be any fatalities, said Clark.

Medic 139 transported a passenger from the Ford to Capital Health.
