A local man “flipped out” in the Lower Bucks Hospital Emergency Room Friday, leading to the dispatch of approximately half-dozen police officers after he threatened to blow up the facility and execute an on-duty nurse, public safety sources told Lower Bucks Source.
The scene played out late Friday night, when a man presented to emergency room personnel seeking help for an ongoing mental health issue. Allegedly the man waited about 30 minutes. Sources said, he became increasingly frustrated with staff attending to him, attempting to leave and that’s when threats to ‘blow up this f**king place ’ and to shoot a nurse “in the head” were made.
A swarm of police arrived on scene to take the man into custody, sources told LBS.
For the moment, Lower Bucks Source is holding the man’s name since no formal charges have been filed as of late Monday, according to online court records. The 30’s something man was taken to another medical facility for evaluation, sources reported.
The alleged incident also comes on the heels of Lower Bucks Hospital Nurses threatening to go on strike this Friday. Sources with knowledge of the union’s plans said, late Monday night negotiations are ongoing with a “last ditch” session taking place Tuesday.
Bristol Twp Police did not respond to a request for comment and additional information as of Monday about the alleged incident.
