A 28 year-old Yardley man stands accused of stealing about $34,000 from his job at Dicks Sporting Goods, Falls Township Police say.
Brandon K Pogorzelski was arraigned by District Judge John T. Galloway late Monday on four burglary related felony counts and was later released on bond.
According to the criminal complaint, on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at just before 5 am Bucks County Radio dispatched Officers to Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 150 Commerce Boulevard, Fairless Hills, Falls Township, for the report of an alarm. It was discovered upon arrival that the front double doors had been opened beyond business hours with a key, the security gate directly next to the front double doors had been opened with a key, and approximately $33,750.30 cash money had been taken from the combination safe in the manager’s office. The manager’s office also required a key for entry. The only individuals employed at Dick’s Sporting Goods who have keys for the front double door, security gate, and manager’s office are the (9) store managers. In addition, only the (9) store managers know the combination safe code containing the cash money.
Further investigation revealed that Pogorzelski used his employee key to open the front double door key outside business hours at 0450 hours on January 20, 2024. He then used his employee key to open the security gate, entered the employee breakroom and subsequently used his key to enter the manager’s office. Subsequently Pogorzelski then entered the safe combination and took (9) clear plastic bags containing $33,750.30 in cash money then leaving the sporting goods outlet at 4:52 hours the morning of the 20th .
Pogorzelski, according to court papers, was not authorized to enter the business at that time and he was no point was not authorized to take any money from the combination safe in the manager’s office.
He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass. theft by unlawful taken, and receiving stolen property.
Pogorzelski is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on March 12.
