A gruesome scene awaited police and fire personnel after a vehicle fire was extinguished at St. Ignatius Cemetery on River Road late Wednesday night. Police said, human remains were located in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
Lowe Makefield Police and the Yardley-Makefield Fire Department personnel were called to the scene on Wednesday night, April 3, 2024 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Initially believed to be a brush fire, it was determined upon arrival to be a vehicle fire located at the rear of the cemetery property, said police.
Due to the condition of the body, immediate identification could not be made and the manner of death could not be considered. The body was transported to the Bucks County Coroner’s Office for further examination and autopsy, and DNA and/or dental records would possibly provide the identification of the person, according to the police.
