Kayden’s Law Needs to be Signed into Law Now!

This past fall Bucks County Lawmakers unveiled Kayden’s Law. As of today, both bills remain in their respective committees, waiting for action to be taken.

The following statement is from the Sherlock/Giglio family on Kayden’s Law and was submitted to the Voice of the People Op-Ed section of Lower Bucks Source

Why does this keep happening?

This is occurring too often and becoming a national epidemic.

It seems like every two days there is a new story in the news of an abusive parent that kills their child or children. When are adults going to step in and protect children caught up in this broken family court system? Change needs to happen now.
When will our lawmakers be brave enough to make the necessary changes within our laws to save these innocent children.

Our family court system is corrupt and every time we get closer to identifying where the problem lies, those who are supposed to protect, end up placing kids in more harm.

If you are not capable of understanding the nature of this epidemic you should not be making these life altering decisions.

Judges, Social Service workers, GAL (guardian at litem) and all other involved state paid employees, should be held accountable for decisions they make when they fail innocent children who cannot protect themselves.

It seems that little progress,if any, has been made in the PA state Senate Judiciary committee in regards to S.B. 868 “Kayden’s Law” or The mirror bill in the PA House of Representatives HB 1587.

We are extremely grateful for all the hard work our local lawmakers in Bucks County have done to introduce this bill to the house and senate. We need a statewide push in other districts to get the law passed as soon as possible.

Children’s lives, health and safety should always be the priority.

Our president Donald J. Trump signed a national law to protect animals from abuse, and to punish those who abuse them to the fullest extent of the law. Why is this so hard to do for our children? They deserve more.

Kayden deserved more. Thomas Valva deserved more along with 730+ other helpless children. The broken family court system routinely delivers children to the perpetrator on a silver platter. Often children are completely removed from their safe parent based on what, A law degree? Or because the safe parent was upset in court, fighting tooth and nail to protect their children?

It’s backwards and is obviously failing our kids.

Since 2008, 730+ children in the United States have been murdered by an abusive parent. Kayden was #647 .. nearly 100 more kids have been killed since Aug, 6 2018.

These children should still be here.

Kayden should be 9. She is 7 forever.

It has become clear that the system put in place to protect children is not working. Enough is enough!

We need brave lawmakers to step up and make the necessary changes so that this never happens again. We have to live with this pain. It is our goal that no other protective parent has to experience the heartache of preventable trauma. We ask that everyone calls their local state senators and representatives and ask them to support Kayden’s Law (S.B. 868 & H.B. 1587).

There are no words to describe the pain and suffering caused upon this mother and her family due to the corruption and horrific bad practices of the family courts. The people need to stand up and say enough so that this doesn’t happen ever again. Silence is complicity when children are dying and families are crying.
