Earlier this month, Falls Township Parks and Recreation introduced Archie as the mascot for events. Last night, it was made official by the Board of Supervisors.
On June 8, Parks and Recreation introduced, through Facebook, their mascot, a fox named Archie.
Last night, June 24, the Board of Supervisors approved Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews’ request for Archie to be the official mascot, who would appear at many of the township’s events.
According to Andrews, Archie could not make the meeting because he was busy earlier at camp, but may make an appearance in the future. This led Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence to comment that it is interesting that Archie and Andrews are never seen together at the same time. Andrews had no comment.
In his presentation, Andrews said, the mascot idea came from Erin Long, Parks and Recreation Coordinator.ย Long’s previous place of employment had a mascot which was a good branding tool and engaged the community.
Andrews thought it was a great idea and it would be a good fit for Falls Township. The Supervisors thought so too, as they made it official when the motion for consideration was approved unanimously.
Archie, named in homage to Three Arches in Fairless Hills, is now the township’s official mascot.
