Last week for about four hours Pennsylvania State and and Bensalem Police searched the area surrounding the I-95 Street Road-Bristol Pike exit for two suspects after they fled on foot, then taken into custody and charged with a number of drug related offenses. This Wednesday night, Bensalem residents, around 9 p.m., reported seeing about a “half dozen” police officers searching an area close to a local community park.
Locals reported seeing police on Bridgewater Road near Struble Park searching for something, one commenter said on a Bensalem specific Meta page.
Helicopters and drones were also reportedly scanning the area from the skies above with spotlights activated.

Sergeant Glenn Vandegrift explained the reason for the search and its happy outcome.
“A 12-year-old special needs student walked away from teachers at dismissal time. We allocated every resource to assist with the search and he was located a short time later on Richlieu Road by a police officer. He was returned to the school and reunited with his mother.”
A rare, yet elusive happy ending, in real life came to fruition last night in Bensalem.
