A 20-year- old Morrisville man who was allegedly vandalizing a borough resident’s vehicle with another unidentified individual got into far more trouble then he was looking for last week after he was chased down by police who warned him he was about to be tased if he did not stop fleeing.

The incident played out last Friday morning at approximately 4:30 a.m. when police were dispatched to the area of 44 Green Street for a criminal mischief complaint. The caller told police, teenagers were trying to break into his vehicle and were also writing on it.

Police made contact with the complainant who explained the same individuals continuously tamper with his vehicle. He said he woke up to his dogs barking and found “the juveniles” on camera trying to open his vehicle door.  The suspects then drew a ‘bull’s eye’ with their fingers on the side of the vehicle. He described the two as a white male wearing a black shirt and jeans and a black male wearing all black.

Lower Makefield police observed two individuals walking eastbound on Bridge Street in the area of Ben’s Deli fitting the suspects’ description. Two officers responded to the area of their last known location.  As police approached the two, they took off running in opposite directions with officers in a foot pursuit behind them. One officer chased the white male wearing the black shirt and jeans behind Ben’s Deli in the rear parking lot towards Washington Street. The chase continued south on Washington Street toward Chambers Street. At this time, the officer withdrew his taser and shouted he would taser the subject if he did not stop fleeing, At that command, he placed his hands in the air and stopped fleeing.

As the suspect was taken to the ground a pocket knife fell out of his possession. Once handcuffed, he was asked if he had anything else in his possession and he stated “yes”; a search incident to arrest provided a .40 caliber semi automatic handgun found to be in his possession. The handgun did not have a serial number on it and was fully loaded with one round inside the chamber. The subject was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana also.

He was placed in the rear of the vehicle, transported back to headquarters and was identified as Daniel J. Gilleo.  He was read his Miranda Rights and asked if he understood his rights which he replied “yes”.

Gilleo was charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm, theft, resisting arrest, prowling and drug possession. He was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility, unable to post 10 percent of  $50,000 bail set, and is scheduled to appear for a hearing on October 22 at Morrisville District Court.

**A second suspect, 20 year-old Jaden Green, of Trenton New Jersey, was charged by mail summons with misdemeanor  prowling and evading arrest in the above described incident, according to a police press release.
