As the Lower Bucks County community is beginning the mourning process for one of its youngest, Lower Bucks Source is able to confirm Lex Heinisch is the 9-year-old boy who died no more than 24 hours ago in what is being described as an accident at his Dixon Avenue home.
A letter to parents from the Bristol Township School District confirmed his tragic passing Wednesday morning.
Lex was a fourth-grader at Mill Creek Elementary School where he had been a student since kindergarten, officials said
Lex “has touched many lives in his time with us. Our condolences and deepest sympathies are extended to all who have been impacted by this tragic loss. Today we are a grieving school community.”
The district activated its crisis counseling team for all that feel they are in need of support, said officials in the letter to the community.
A Go Fund Me campaign was launched early Wednesday by the coaches of Lex’s soccer team with a goal of raising $20,000.00. As of 7:45 p.m. 210 donations have been made and raising just over $16,000.00

It is with profound sadness that I share that one of our students, Lex Heinisch, a 4th grader at Mill Creek Elementary School, died in his home on Tuesday evening after an accident.
Lex has been a student at Mill Creek since Kindergarten, and has touched many lives in his time with us. Our condolences and deepest sympathies are extended to all who have been impacted by this tragic loss. Today we are a grieving school community.
Many children and members of our community may be affected (either directly or indirectly) by this loss. We have activated our District Crisis Team and our counselors and they will be available today and upcoming days at Mill Creek and throughout the district to provide assistance to staff and students in need.
If you feel that your child is having difficulty coping with this event, please let us know as soon as possible. As always, our counselors will remain accessible to the entire student body, and with the help of our faculty, attempt to identify any students who may be having ongoing difficulties.
Please keep in mind that any traumatic event can trigger an emotional reaction, even to an unrelated event (family illness, prior losses, etc.)
No additional information has been released by investigators about how or why the soccer playing, Metallica loving, sweet and crazy, #8, young man passed as of this update.

A nine-year-old boy died Tuesday at Lower Bucks Hospital and police have launched an investigation.
First responders were dispatched to the 900 block of Dixon Ave, in the Bristol Township’s Croydon section at 7:5o p.m. for an unconscious 9-year-old male who was not breathing, police said in a Wednesday morning press release.
Emergency services responded and rendered aide, Lt Sean Cosgrove said.
The child was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital where he was subsequently declared dead by medical staff at the hospital, said Cosgrove.
“An investigation is ongoing” is all the police would say with regards to the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
