One motorist is in serious condition at an area hospital after in what appears to be a chain-reaction crash when a pickup truck was rear-ended and crashed into the backend of a car carrier, Morrisville Borough Fire Company Chief John Weiss III said Saturday morning.
First responders were dispatched to the northbound lanes of the Route 1 superhighway around 2:45 p.m for a reported auto extraction, Weiss III said, finding one person entrapped in the multi-vehicle crash.

Fire crews from Morrisville and the Falls Township Fire Company #1 freed the pickup truck driver who was quickly whisked away to an area hospital by EMS with “serious injuries,” Weiss III said.
The crash occurred just as motorists approached Delmorr Avenue coming off the superhighway bridge which backed up traffic for about 90 minutes, according to dispatch records.
