A Falls Township motel was shut down recently because state officials expressed concern about the establishments water supply.
Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, notices and crime scene tape were seen around the Country House Motel, 900 block of Old Lincoln Highway in the Falls Twp. section of Morrisville.
Anonymous tipsters reported the crime scene tape all around the property noting they drive past the location frequently and were under the impression some kind of police related activity was happening.
Falls Twp. Police, in response to an inquiry by this publication, said the motel was closed by the township for code violations referring LBS to twp. administration.
According to the signage, posted on the motel’s doors, the business was declared “unsafe for human occupancy or use” as of Feb 28.
A person on the grounds, said the motel is shut down while a new water system is being installed.
Falls Twp. officials said code enforcement issued a shut down notice after being notified by the Department of Environmental Protection of concerns regarding their water supply.
“The motel is actively working to correct the matter,” said township Spokeswoman Theresa Katalinas.
The specifics of those concerns were not enumerated by Falls officials.
