A Levittown man was sentenced to up to five years in state prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend last summer in a domestic incident that took place in Bristol Borough.
Denis Chirskoy, 27 pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime, in a plea deal worked out with prosecutors last month for stabbing a Bristol woman in a domestic incident last June, according to online court records.
Chirskoy as part of the plea deal is required to continue abiding by the courts no contact order put in place last year after his arrest, receive mental health treatment, and continue that treatment once released, court records say.
The incident, occurred in the early morning hours of June 13 when borough police responded to the 700 Block of Corson Street to a “domestic incident” call. Upon arrival police found a 41 year-old woman with a stab wound to the abdomen. She was quickly taken to Jefferson Torresdale Trauma Center by the Bucks County Rescue Squad for treatment where she was originally listed in critical condition. Subsequent to the incident friends and family told the publication she doing ok and recovering from her injuries.
Bristol Borough Police officer Jame Ellis’ quickly located Chirskoy close to the scene of the stabbing and was taken into custody.
Police say Chirskoy sustained a stab wound from the incident and was treated at a local medical facility.
Chirosky was sentenced to a minimum of two years state prison time and was given credit for 209 days served while awaiting his case to be adjudicated. He is currently confined at the state correctional institution in Smithfield, Pa.
