Grand Jury Indicts Man who texted ‘Lucky I missed’ on Attempted Homicide Charge

A 29- year- old man has been charged with attempted homicide and related offenses for allegedly firing a shot gun at his ex-girlfriends new boyfriend last year at the Village Square Apartments in Bensalem.

Jerome Tyron Jordan, no fixed address, is facing charges of criminal attempt to commit homicide, two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, six counts of reckless endangerment, and a single offense of possessing a firearm illegally.

Jordan, in Bucks County Prison since October 25, the day after the shooting, has also been charged with drug possession and related offenses.

The case, investigated by the Bensalem Township Police and a Bucks County investigating grand jury who recommended the charges.

Earlier today, Jordan was arraigned on the new charges by Bensalem Justice Michael W. Gallagher Jr. setting bail at 10 percent of $2 million.

The Grand Jury was presented with testimony from several eyewitnesses, and evidence from Jordan’s cell phone in which the  suspect sent threats to his ex girlfriend, including one message which he sent that said ‘lucky I missed,’ police wrote in court documents.

The shooting which took place in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 10 am with five other people, when Jordan confronted his ex’s new boyfriend and said “say something now” and fired one shot at the male victim. The suspect fled the area after firing the single shot.

Bensalem Police recovered a single gun shot shell at the scene and arrested Jordan at his job the following day.

During the initial police contact, the suspect consented to a search of his vehicle and retrieved dozens of bags of marijuana and shotgun shells, which allowed them to take him into custody.

Jordan denied being the shooter and blamed the incident on a person recently deceased.

“Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Bucks County’s Investigating Grand Jury, who are citizens just like you, another crime has been solved, and another dangerous person will be made to answer for his violent criminal conduct,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said.
