A veteran law enforcement professional officially joined the ranks of the Morrisville Police Department after Council unanimously approved the conditional offer of employment and was sworn in by Mayor Gary Wallace at Tuesday night’s Council meeting.

Kevin DiPaolo was approved as a full-time police officer during the Borough Council meeting Tuesday, July 15 2025, pending a successful compliance with the conditions outlined in Act 57, a requirement for all police officer hires in the state.

DiPalo previously worked in Bristol Borough for a little more than 11 years as an officer making many serious felony arrests and deep connections with the Bristol community over the years. His professionalism whether speaking with victims and or suspects never wavered Bristolians have said.

He was the last full time hiring by Bristol Borough, and was furloughed by the department, due to a caveat in the police unions agreement with the borough a little more than two years ago, according to officials. Since then, veteran the street cop has been pulling shifts for the Penndel Borough Police Department.

Chief of Police, Rich Ciampa said he first met DiPaolo on May 31st, the day of the police test. There were three qualities about DiPaolo stood out for the chief.

“DiPaolo was professional, he was articulate, and he showed up for the test. So, in my eyes, he was a winner already.” said Ciampa. A thorough background investigation was also conducted to ensure the hiring of a qualified candidate.

DiPaolo brings nearly 18 years of law enforcement experience and an impressive service record, Ciampa said.

“So I’m excited to move forward. I appreciate the council’s commitment to continue the growth of the police department.  I think that Kevin’s going to make a great addition to our police department,” said Ciampa in closing.

DiPaolo’s wife Courtney and children, Benjamin and Jace were introduced by the chief and were present to witness the swearing in ceremony.
