NAACP Bucks, in partnership with The Legal Kid Foundation and the Education Law Center-PA,  announced hosting a workshop called EmpowerED which is designed to equip students, parents, and advocates with the tools needed to protect children’s rights and ensure schools are safe, supportive spaces for all.

This is held for parent/student advocates or those concerned on how your kids are being treated in school or those who want to feel more confident speaking up, advocating for children, and navigating challenging situations with school administrators.

The workshop is scheduled for September 20, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Newtown Friends School located at 1450 Langhorne Newtown Rd. in Newtown. Registration will be required for all attendees. Parental permission is required for students in grade 5-8. Refreshments will be served. Click here to register!

In this workshop you will learn:

  • How to recognize and respond to hostile school environments
  • Your rights around school discipline policies
  • How to effectively communicate with school staff
  • Tools and strategies to advocate for children in your community

Together, we’ll build power through knowledge and take action for safer, more equitable schools, said NAACP Bucks officials.
