The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an apparent Friday afternoon shooting in the Croydon section of Bristol Township at the Neshaminy State Park Marina.
The shooting occurred at approximately 3:37 pm, with Troopers dispatched a short time later, Trooper Nathan T. Branosky, said.
Troopers arrived on scene and it was determined a 47- Year-Old Male, from Croydon, came to Neshaminy State Park with a firearm and encountered an 18-Year-Old Male from Philadelphia and a 22-Year-Old Male from Bensalem while they were fishing
The 22-Year-Old Male fired his handgun and struck the 47-Year-Old Male in the leg. The 47- Year-Old Male fled the scene in his vehicle and eventually stopped his vehicle where he was treated by Bensalem EMS and transported to a local hospital for his injuries, Branosky said.
Witnesses reported seeing the victim transferred from his vehicle to an ambulance and was then rushed off to a medical facility for treatment of the gunshot wound to his leg.
A separate set of tipsters who were in the area of Cedar and Magnolia Avenues, blocks away from the marina said officers were interviewing potential witnesses asking if they heard gun fire.
“There is no danger to the public related to this incident,” investigators said.
This shooting is currently being investigated by the Troop M Trevose Criminal Investigation Unit.
