Lower Makefield Twp Police Officer Charged for Making Illegal Recordings of Coworkers

A Lower Makefield Township police officer has been arrested after allegedly making illegal recordings on his cell phone of his co-workers.

Bucks County Detectives charged Officer Ken Stinson, 53, according to court records after he allegedly admitted to creating and sharing an unauthorized audio recording (s) from his cell phone. Investigators say Stinson disclosed the recording during a conversation with his supervisor, who in turn alerted authorities and an investigation was launched.

Investigators allege Stinson recorded at least 13 Lower Makefield Twp Police officers without their permission while at work in recent years, with one recording lasting more than 90 minutes, according to court records.

Stinson was arraigned Friday before District Judge Corryn Kronnagel and released.  He is charged with 18 felony counts of illegally intercepting wire, electronic, or oral communications, one count of disclosing intercepted communications and one count of criminal use of a communication facility

He was arraigned Friday before District Judge Corryn Kronnagel and released on unsecured bail. According to court records, Stionson is represented by Bagley, Carlin, and Mandino and is scheduled to appear back in court on December 9.
