In September, the congregation at Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church held a three-week food drive benefiting Warminster Food Bank, collecting 606 pounds of nonperishable items. Members donated high-need goods such as cereal, ready-to-serve soups and meals, boxed potatoes, rice and pasta side dishes, and coffee.

Prior to delivering the food to Warminster Food Bank, church members held a sorting party to put dates on all the items and then delivered them to the food bank. The donated food will help provide monthly groceries and supplies for families in need. Warminster Food Bank serves over 12,000 people a year in Bucks and Montgomery Counties and the demand rises each month.

On the third Sunday of the food collection drive, church members held a “packing party” to put dates on all the items before delivering them to the food bank.

Deacon David Askey explains that “The recent food drive is part of new service initiative at Trinity Church with goals to enable the Church members to have a more visible presence in our neighboring communities so that we can more effectively: recognize and address brokenness in our fallen world; expand and enhance our witness to the mercy, love and compassion of Jesus Christ; and engage the whole congregation to serve and support the work of the Food Bank. We are thankful for the vision of the Food Bank and intend to support their efforts on an ongoing basis.”

In addition to the recent food drive, various church members bring in donations each Sunday which are delivered to the Food Bank weekly. The church also sends a team of volunteers each week to unpack pallets of food from Philabundance. During the summer of 2025, recent fundraisers and donations were made to the food bank; some include:

“Our guests depend on us each month to help with their food needs,” said Mike Cerino, Executive Director, Warminster Food Bank.  “We are grateful to the members of Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church for their efforts on our behalf and we are looking forward to continuing this new partnership into the future.”

The Warminster Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that provides food to people in need in the Bucks and Montgomery Counties.  The Warminster Food Bank serves more than 650 families each month with food donated by individuals and businesses.  Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
