Delaware Contractor Wanted by Bucks Authorities Turns Himself In

A Delaware based home improvement contractor with ties to Morrisville Borough wanted in two Bucks County jurisdictions turned himself into authorities on Monday.

District Judge Corryn L. Kronnagel arraigned 46 year old John D. Paoletti on four separate felony arrest warrants on charges of deceptive business practices, failing to perform for services paid, theft, and receiving stolen property setting bail for each case at 10 percent of $25, 000.00 which he was able to post.

Authorities believe that Paoletti may have committed similar deceptive practices in other jurisdictions and that there are likely numerous unidentified victims.

“The scale of the alleged fraud is significant, with confirmed losses in the current cases exceeding $80,000,” said Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn

If you hired Paoletti or his company Choice Remodeling and Restoration for home improvement work, paid him in advance, and the work was never completed or your money was not refunded, you are strongly urged to contact police. You can also contact the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office through Crimewatch at www.bucksda.org.

The criminal complaints detail a consistent pattern of alleged fraud: Advanced Payments: Paoletti is accused of soliciting and accepting large upfront payments for home improvement projects, renovations, or materials. Failure to Perform: After receiving the funds, Paoletti allegedly failed to complete the contracted work or, in some cases, failed to start the project at all. In one Morrisville case, Paoletti received a $12,500 insurance check but failed to complete the contracted repairs for nearly a year.

A second Morrisville victim reported he lost more than $10,700 when Paoletti failed to repair his roof.

A Lower Makefield Township victim reported a loss of over $17,500 after Paoletti failed to make repairs to his home and a fourth Morrisville victim is out nearly $46.000.00

Paoletti has no attorney listed according to online court records. He is expected back in court to answer to the charges on December 2.
