One more big fundraising push before will happen before the African American Museum of Bucks County is preparing for before opening the doors to its permanent museum location at the beginning of next year.
“Preserve the Legacy: Complete the Vision,” is the theme for this years gala to be held on Dec. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Parx Casinos’ Racetrack Building, 3001 Street Road in Bensalem.
Sponsored by Parx the event, features a sit-down dinner and entertainment.
Attendees will be treated to a performance by the baritone Keith Spencer, which is presented by On Demand Programs and Events. Spencer will perform “We Shall Not Be Moved: Songs and Speeches from the Civil Rights Movement.”
“We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of individuals, businesses and the Bucks County Commissioners over the past four years and are eager to celebrate the near completion of the Museum with our friends and supporters,” Salley said. “We are now in the home stretch. We hope this gala will bring in the remaining funds necessary to ensure that the Museum can open in early 2026.”
Years in planning and building, the museum located at Boone Farm in Core Creek Park in Middletown Township at 867 Newtown-Langhorne Road.
