Bensalem Township will hold its holiday tree lighting Saturday Night at the municipal complex as officials ask locals to bring non-perishable food items to join the community focused event.

This year’s annual township tree lighting will be held on Saturday, December 13th, beginning at 5:00 pm. Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, Council and the Parks and Recreation Department, officials announced.

“Hopefully, you will join us in welcoming Santa to Bensalem along with a few of his reindeer! Santa and his helpers can’t wait to see you and put a smile on your faces so, come on out and help us make this a joyous season for all!”

“Admittance to this event is a non-perishable food item to be distributed at a later date to those families who are in need! Have your food items ready to drop off at the collection station to receive a surprise appreciation gift while supplies last. Your food donations will be distributed to families in need so, keep a joyous spirit and give to those less fortunate! Hope to see you on Saturday, December 13th!”

Please remember, officials said, admittance is simply a non-perishable food item for the event.
