Blizzard of 2026 Snowfall Totals for Lower Bucks Co; Tullytown, Fairless Hills Top List at 18 Inches

In the future, when feeling nostalgic or a need to “remember the good ole days” the storm that buried the Lower end of Bucks County might be referred to as the ‘Blizzard of 2026.”

Or not.

It was only several weeks ago that the lower end of the county was digging itself out from a reported nine inches of snow fall.

Snow totals for this time around in some places like Fairless Hills doubled that number reporting 18 inches of snow on the ground, according to the National Weather Service- Mt Holly- Philadelphia. 

The totals are preliminary, NWS says with expected updates to come in over the next 12 to 24 hours.

‘The heavy snowfall, NWS says, could lead to very difficult to impossible travel conditions. Snowfall has been falling at  up to 1” per hour are possible through mid morning. Blowing and drifting of snow possible.
Winds gusting up to 40 mph.

As an aside please check in on neighbors with ambulatory issues  who also have four legged furry friends to see if they need any help or support.

Please keep in mind the Commonwealth reduced speed limits on major highways earlier.

In addition, vehicle restrictions also went into effect at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, in accordance with Tier 4 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan.

The worst of the storm will taper off for the Lower Bucks County area by lunch time Monday with the dig out already in process.

Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT temporarily reduced the speed limit on several roadways, Sunday evening, across the five-county Philadelphia region.

PennDOT’s notice began Sunday and continues through Monday. Feb. 23.

PennDOT urges all motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:

  • Interstates 76, 95, 295, 476, 676.
  • U.S. Routes 1, 30, 202, 422.
  • State Routes 63, 100 Spur and 309.

In addition, the following vehicle restrictions also went into effect at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, in accordance with Tier 4 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan.

  • I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway section) entire length.
  • I-78 entire length.
  • I-80 from I-81 to New Jersey.
  • I-84 entire length.
  • I-95 entire length.
  • I-295 entire length.
  • I-380 entire length.
  • I-476 entire length.
  • I-676 entire length.
  • Route 33 entire length.
  • U.S. 22 from I-78 to New Jersey.
  • PA Turnpike I-95 entire length
  • PA Turnpike I-276 entire length.
  • PA Turnpike Northeast Extension I-476 entire length.

On roadways with Tier 4 restrictions in place, no commercial vehicles are permitted. Additionally, all school buses, commercial buses, motor coaches, motorcycles, RVs/motorhomes and passenger vehicles (cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, etc.) towing trailers are not permitted on affected roadways while restrictions are in place.
