Fetterman Wins PA Senate Seat over Oz

Pennsylvania Lt Governor John Fetterman will be the newly elected senator of the keystone state as he beat Republican candidate Memet Oz early Wednesday morning.

Fetterman led the Republican throughput the night with Oz getting as close as .5 pct.

After what many pollsters said was a bad performance in the Ocotober debate between the two, which mostly focused on Fetterman’s health, Oz pulled within points of the Pennsylvania Lt Governor, according to published polling.

“It’s official. I will be the next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania,” Fetterman tweeted. “We bet on the people of Pennsylvania — and you didn’t let us down. And I won’t let you down. Thank you.”

I’m so humbled,” Fetterman, wearing his signature hoodie, told his supporters early Wednesday morning. “This campaign has always been about fighting for everyone who’s ever been knocked down that ever got back up.”

The seat being vacated by twice elected Republican Pat Toomey was considered a must win if Democrats were going to maintain control in the senate.

Fetterman finished with 50.2 to Oz’s 47.4 percent of the vote.

The Senator elect beat Oz in Bucks County, according to unofficial tallies, by just under five  points.

This race is for the future of every community all across Pennsylvania. For every small town or person that ever felt left behind,” Fetterman said.
