Just In: Crash in Lower Bucks Closes U.S 1

A deadly crash closed U.S. Route 1 Monday morning for hours after person was struck and killed on the busy highway.

A Lower Bucks Source reader texted the publication about 1 hour ago reporting accident. 

The accident closed the highway in Middletown Township with the crash scene in the area I-295 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the area of Neshaminy Mall. 

A first responder source with knowledge of the accident said the person stuck died on the scene. 

Middletown officials have confirmed the fatality. 

Penn DOT has work scheduled for guide rail repairs beginning this morning in the area too which officials said could potentially cause delays. 

Police are still investigating the deadly crash presently additional details as they come in.
