Updated: Bristol Man Charged with Attempted Homicide for Tuesday Morning Shooting in Morrisville

A Bristol man has been charged with attempted homicide and related offenses for a shooting that took place in Morrisville early Tuesday morning, according to court records.

Giovanni Diaz, 25 of Bristol has been charged with attempted homicide, and three counts of aggravated assault.

He was sent to Bucks County Prison without bail early Tuesday morning by on-call Justice Maggie Snow.

Confidential sources tell Lower Bucks Source, the shooting took place in the area of 100 block of Harrison Street, at around 3:15 a.m. this morning.

According to a memo sent out to borough officials by police, the motive for the shooting was a dispute between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend.

Sources with knowledge of the investigation said a one victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head, and another victim, a female was also shot in the shoulder.

The first of the two victim was transported to Capital Health for treatment.

The second victim, showed up at Lower Bucks Hospital driven there by the alleged shooter, investigative sources told the publication Tuesday afternoon, where he was taken into custody by Bristol Police.

ON Wednesday Morrisville Chief of Police responded to a request for comment only saying in response that the correct charge was attempted homicide. He did not elobarate as to why the charge was changed and or incorrect.

The medical conditions of both victims has not been released, but the online county court records, due to the homicide charge, indicate a person was killed, however, that charge was changed on Wednesday to  attempted homicide.

On Thursday a friend of the woman with the gunshot wound to the shoulder said she was released on Tuesday from the hospital.

Diaz is tentatively scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 1 in front of Justice Corryn  L. Kronnagel.

    Giovanni Diaz is my sons father. I was present when the incident happened. This article is very misleading stating a person was killed. No one is dead, the male victim is alive and well at capital hospital. Please fix this information. He did not kill anyone.
