Bensalem Officials Rule Mobile Home Fire Accidental

Officials said, Friday’s fire at Top of Ridge Mobile Home trailer park was accidental and started by the man’s couch. The deceased man was identified as Joseph Stadler, 45.

***Original Story***

A fatal fire at the top of the Top of Ridge Mobile Home trailer park in Bensalem is  under investigation by township authorities.

According to a press release, At 5:00 p.m. this evening, Bensalem Township Police, along with Bensalem Fire Rescue and volunteers from Newport, Nottingham, and Penndel fire companies, responded to an active fire at lot D14 of Top of the Ridge Trailer Park on Gibson Road. Upon arrival, the mobile home at D14 was fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also extended to the neighboring mobile home on lot D12. Firefighters extinguished the fire and limited the damage to only two mobile homes.

When firefighters entered the lot D14 mobile home, they discovered a deceased male, identified as Joseph Stadler, 45 years old, inside. No other injuries to residents were reported. The preliminary investigation revealed that the fire started in the home’s living room area, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. A firefighter was treated and released from Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for smoke inhalation while battling the blaze.
The mobile home on lot D14 was a total loss, and D12 suffered significant damage. The Red Cross is on the scene assisting residents displaced by this fire.
