Bensalem Man Charged for Slew of Child Sex Related Offenses

Bensalem Police arrested and charged a Trevose man with a slew of sex related offenses Friday.

Gerald Malloy, 53 of Poplar Road, Trevose PA for numerous crimes related to sexual assault of a 12 year -old boy, although no actual assault occurred, said Police in a  Friday press release.

According to police,   Malloy was on a dating app when he solicited a 12 year-old boy to have a sexual encounter with him.  Malloy sent sexually explicit photographs to the child and asked for the same type of photographs in return.

He then continued the conversation via text and set up a meeting to have a sexual encounter, police said.

Police in court papers say Malloy was very explicit as to what he wanted to do sexually to the child once they met.

Bensalem Police were on location when Malloy arrived at the Neshaminy Mall for the sexual encounter and he was taken into custody.

“Bensalem Police would like to stress that no child was physically assaulted or present at the time of Malloy’s arrest.”

Malloy was arraigned by District Justice Baranoski and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $500,000.

Other conditions of bail were that Malloy was not to have any unsupervised contact with minors or unsupervised use of the internet.

Malloy is charged  with nine sex related felonies and one additional misdemeanor offense.

He is currently scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on October 12 in Bensalem District Court
