Bensalem Township Police arrested a man for trying to break into an apartment at a complex he’s been essentially banned from in the past due to Protection from Abuse Orders (PFA’s) put in place by family members.
The arrest was made on June 28, with police responding to 957 Bristol Pike apartment at Riverview Crossings in Bensalem.
According to the criminal complaint, police were responding to an attempted break in by suspect Brandon Howard, 39. Howard’s sister called police from inside their mothers home, stating that Howard was kicking on the door and threatening to break it down. Howard did not reside at the current location and was not welcomed there.
In fact, according to court records, Howard was banned from contacting family members living at Riverview back in 2019 and has also had Protection from Abuse orders in place for the same location dating back at least seven years.
Upon arrival, police observed Howard standing outside of the apartment door but inside the common area.
Howard refused to listen to police orders to put his hands behind his back, and began flailing around. The suspect backed up towards the steps of the apartment while tensing his arms and pulling away from police, officers wrote in court papers.

At one point as police were trying to detain the suspect, he had grabbed the arm of an officer and scratched it. Howard began running from police towards the exit at the back of the building. Howard would be tased, causing him to fall on the ground and be taken into custody.
Howard faces a charge of resisting arrest, criminal trespass, and evading arrest on foot. He was arranged at Judge Michael Gallagher’s court on 2404 Byberry Rd. He is represented by Bucks County Public Defender’s Office and is due back in court on July 21.
He currently has two probation/parole violation hearings scheduled tied directly to violating judges orders and PFA’s at the apartment complex, according to online court records.
