Bensalem Township Police arrested three suspects in a strong-arm robbery at a local pharmacy after quickly spotting them in a vehicle and taking them into custody before they could flee the jurisdiction.
Joshua Dupree, Jahnoi Dawkins, and a male minor were charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and related offenses.
Magisterial District Judge Michael Gallagher arraigned Dupree and Dawkins late Thursday afternoon. Dupree’s bail was set at 10 percent of $150,000. Dawkins’ bail was set at 10 percent of $250,000. Both were remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility and have a court date set for Jan. 27. The teenage male was remanded to Bucks County Youth Detention Center, according to online court records.
Police responded to Smart Choice Pharmacy, located at 1941 Street Road, on Jan. 15 for a report of a strong-arm robbery. The investigation revealed three suspects assaulted a delivery driver and stole two boxes of medications containing Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Trulicity, valued at approximately $16,000, said police.
The suspects fled the area in a gold-colored Toyota, nearly striking a nearby witness before being located and stopped in the 3600 block of Street Road. The suspects were identified as Dupree, 41, Tamaqua, PA, Dawkins, 21, Albany, NY, and a 17-year-old male from New York City. Stolen items from the robbery were found in the vehicle, according to the probable cause.
Further investigation revealed the men traveled from New York to commit the crime. The pharmacy staff reported receiving suspicious phone calls and emails requesting information about the delivery order days before the incident.
