Canadian Woman Jailed for Reportedly Stealing FedEx Package Containing More Than $45K in Gold & Silver, Police Say

Bensalem authorities arrested a 25 year-old Canadian national accused of stealing a package containing a little more than $45,000 of gold and silver.

According to a release, Bensalem Township Police responded to a report of a stolen FedEx package on May 11.

The victim reported that while awaiting delivery of a package containing gold and silver, a family member observed a woman, later identified as Kaileigh Hogan of Ontario, Canada, who claimed to be the owner, signed for the package and then left the area in a Nissan sedan.

Investigators used intersection cameras, license plate readers (LPRs), and other surveillance footage to identify and track the Nissan. The investigation determined Hogan rented the vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A-Car at Philadelphia International Airport on May 10, 2026.

After the alleged theft, Hogan returned to the airport and flew to Arizona that same day, police said.

Bensalem Township Police obtained an arrest warrant charging Hogan with forgery, theft by unlawful taking, and theft by deception.

Because Hogan was in the United States from Canada on a visa, investigators contacted U.S. Customs and Border Protection to advise the agency of the outstanding warrant.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, Bensalem Township Police were notified Hogan had been taken into custody on the warrant while attempting to cross into Canada at Lewiston, New York.

On Friday, July 31, 2026, Hogan was transported from New York to Bensalem Township Police Headquarters by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office for arraignment.

According to police, Magisterial District Judge Michael Gallagher arraigned Hogan and set bail at 10% of $1 million. She was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing date has yet to be set, according to publicly available records as of publication time.
