A 34-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with 51 felony counts in his unsuccessful attempt to have sex with a 13-year-old girl.
According to Bensalem Police on March 4, 2025, 34-year-old Ian Evans, of Shipley Place in Philadelphia, began conversing with a 13-year-old female on a social media/dating app that quickly turned to text messages.
Within a day, Evans began messaging about sexual acts and asked the child to get naked while he did so. He then texted sexually explicit photographs of himself. He stated his intentions to meet up with the 13-year-old so she could perform specific sexual acts with her, police said.
The conversations continued for weeks, according to court records, as he continued to send photographs and videos of himself masturbating as well as other pornographic videos that depicted what he wanted to do with her. Evans also continued to ask for naked pictures of the 13-year-old female. Once he agreed to meet her for a sexual encounter in the woods behind his workplace in Bensalem, the Bensalem authorities obtained a warrant for his arrest.
“No child was ever in danger during this investigation” a spokesperson for the Bensalem Police Dept. said.
At 3:30 p.m. on April 4, 2025, Bensalem Police arrested Evans as he left his place of work. He was charged with sexual abuse of children, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, and criminal use of a communication facility.
He was arraigned by District Justice Michael Gallagher and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $1,000,000 bail.
Evans is scheduled for a May 1 court date and has no attorney of record, according to online court records.
