Croydon Woman Charged with Drug Distribution, Cops say.

A Croydon woman has been charged with possession and intent to distribute 3 ounces of marijuana, criminal use of a communication device and related offenses by Bensalem authorities Tuesday night and released on unsecured bail. 

Police were dispatched for a possible domestic incident in the area of Northbrook Drive and Overlook Boulevard just after 4:15 p.m early Tuesday evening. 

Police say when they arrived on scene they encountered a man and woman who told police there was not a domestic issue taking place, but that the male needed medical treatment for an injury to his arm. Bensalem medics arrived on scene to transport the man to a medical facility for treatment.

While walking by the stopped vehicle the two were traveling in, officers smelled the aroma of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Police observed on the several marijuana cigarettes on the passenger side of the vehicle on center console. Further investigation revealed a red, white and blue bag on the passenger side floor board which police searched recovering two clear sandwich bags filled with a sticky leafy substance consistent with cannabis.

The vehicles owner, Marisa Bockhorn, 33 of Croydon told police the approximate 3.ounces of substance was hers as well as a digital scale and a little more than $2,100 police recovered, according to court documents. She was transported to Bensalem Police Headquarters for processing and while being interviewed revealed that a text message she received on her cell phone was for the purpose of purchasing marijuana.

Bockhorn is tentatively scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 15.
