Drug Take-Back Day is Next Saturday in Bucks

Locals will be able to safely dispose of unused, unneeded, and or expired medications throughout the county next Saturday at dozens of locations.

Local law enforcement and county officials will be teaming up once again to take park in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 am to 2 p.m. at a myriad of locations throughout the area. And due to the pandemic, it will be easier this year with drive up- and drop -off at every location.

Organizers believe it’s important to properly dispose of your prescription medications, saying over 50% of people who misuse prescription pain relievers get them from friends or relatives.

They also report that when drugs are flushed down the toilet, filters may not remove all of the chemicals.

Bucks County continues to be to one of the top collectors in the state of for unwanted, unused, and or expired medications.

Since the effort began in 2010 Bucks County has collected approximately 153,000 pounds of discarded medications, according to county officials.
