Bensalem Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a minor at a local day camp by a minor.

Detective Sargent Glenn Vandergrift confirmed the “active investigation” after the mother of the victim contacted Lower Bucks Source Wednesday evening.

The mother, whose name we will not be releasing at this time because it could lead to revealing the minor child’s identity, alleged staff  at Creekside Camp thru the YWCA did not take her sexual assault allegations of her child seriously sharing a social medial post she created calling out staff at the camp.

The alleged victim’s mother said she called the youth coordinator of the camp nine times with no response. She was finally able to reach that staff member, who allegedly said “I refuse to allow you or my counselors to say that your daughter was sexually assaulted.”

This incident was reported to police Wednesday at 3:30 pm.  A report was taken, and a detective has been assigned the investigation.  The two persons allegedly involved are juveniles, police said.

The camp is cooperating with the police, Vandergrift said.

“We will not be providing any more information as this is an active investigation,” he added.

“I’ve spoken with a detective and I’m waiting to hear back from the DA’s office… I am looking into legal representation and am definitely taking this as far as I can legally,” the mother of the victim said Thursday.

The publication was unsuccessful in reaching Creekside YWCA officials for comment as of publication time.
