Give Me the Money or I’ll Kill You, Gunpoint Robber Tells Victim, Say Cops

A New York state man is behind bars Wednesday after Bensalem Police quickly apprehended him following an alleged gun-point robbery after withdrawing money from Bank of America ATM machine Monday.

Police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Kohl’s Department Store on Street Road for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

According to the victim,  he was withdrawing money from the ATM at the Bank of America on Street Road when he noticed a black male standing behind him in line.  After making a withdrawal, the victim began riding his bicycle from the bank when he was approached by the same black male behind the Kohl’s store on Street Road. The black male exited his vehicle, put a gun to the victim’s head, and said “give me your money or I’ll kill you”.

The suspect robbed  $1000 in US currency from the victim and fled the area in a gray Nissan Altima.

Utilizing various forms of technology police were able to identify the robbery suspect as Antwan Clayton Jones, 42 years old from Ellenville, NY.  The Nissan Altima was a rental vehicle that was tracked to a business on Street Road in Bensalem.  Bensalem Police found the vehicle in the parking lot, entered the business, and took Antwan Jones into custody without incident.

The Nissan Altima was towed to the Bensalem Township Police Department and a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle. During the search, Bensalem Police discovered clothing used in the robbery, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded.22 caliber semi-automatic handgun with the hammer cocked and the safety off. Jones does not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Jones was charged with robbery, terroristic threats, and related offenses.

He was arraigned by District Justice Stacy Wertman and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $250,000 bail.
