“Heavy Fire” Hits Bristol Home for 2nd Time in 18 Hours

A Bristol Borough home went up in flames for the second time in less than 24 hours leaving investigators with more questions than answers this morning.
Tipsters pinpointed the Buckley Street home smoking and showing fire from the second and third floors at 7:20 pm as locals quickly sent images of the fire.
Fire companies were dispatched to the 220 address at 7:26 officials said, arriving fire crews found heavy smoke conditions on the second and third floors and heavy fire conditions in the rear area of the second floor said Bristol Fire officials.
“The fire heavily damaged the rear bedroom on the second floor” Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said.
“Two 1.75 inch hose lines were placed in service. Fire control required extensive overhauling of roof area and the exterior second floor area of the side of the building. Fire was placed under control at 20:30 with companies remaining in service for extensive overhauling.,” he said.
As firefighters regained ground on the blaze a sense of concern started to take hold among locals watching as first responders from Croydon, Third District, Newportville, Edgely, Newport, and Penndel with the Bucks County and Bensalem Rescue Squads for EMS support.
Controlling the fire required extensive overhauling of the roof area and the exterior second floor area of the side of the building, Slack said.
It was placed under control at 8:30 pm officials said.
Why did the home, that was on fire Friday at 1 am begin to burn again around 7:20 pm
After the fire crews left the scene, around 2 am, yellow crime scene tape remained warning anyone coming near not to cross the yellow boundary. And the house was vacant as a result of the fire earlier. By mid morning a neighbor said, the remnants of the structure were boarded a neighbor said.
The origins of how the fire started back up went through a simple rinse and wash process with commenters, including one local police officer weighing in. Concluding with all their fire investigation experience fire a flare up is the culprit for flames and smoke regaining life
Slack, for the most part, doused that working kindling theory saying “the fire is under investigation, but does not appear to be a ‘flare up’ of the earlier fire.
There were no firefighter injuries reported, public safety officials said.
The Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office is heading the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, Slack said.
A second highly placed fire official from outside of the Borough agreed with that assessment when Slack’s quote was published.
Can’t disagree with that. Slack and the County Fire Marshal spent a lot of time together talking
