It has been about three years since Bensalem Township acquired the fields located on E. Bristol Road, renamed it in honor of its first responders performed upgrades and now after rescheduling opening day once, the second time officials hope will be the charm as the firstoffical game will be held Wednesday evening after a dedication ceremony.
Township officials say festivities for the First Responders Field debut are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. 4668 E Bristol Road.
Formerly owned by the Trifecta Sporting Club-German Hungarian Club last spring a $1 million grant for upgrades was approved.
Last March, the long-time project that was undergoing its transformation from the UGH Club received $1 million in state funding toward the park’s renovation
Restoration of the park’s soccer field, a renovated irrigation system, and a resurfaced parking lot are just a few fixes to the park property that were made.
The 15 acre park will be the home for an array sports teams and will be used as open space for locals to enjoy the outdoors in.
