A Montgomery County man was so motivated by the twisted idea of having sex with a 13 year-old he got on a SEPTA Bus in Jenkintown taking it to Bensalem where he was met by a set of Bensalem Police handcuffs, 12 child sexual assault felonies and a $10 million dollar bail.
On September 6, 2025, Eric Karch, 53, of Jenkintown, PA, began a conversation on a social media dating app with what he believed to be a 13-year-old female who attended middle school. Karch quickly took the conversation in a sexual direction and told her that she should try to sleep naked, take photographs of herself while naked in bed, and send them to him. A short time later, Karch sent a picture of his penis to the juvenile and stated that he wanted to perform sexual acts with her, Bensalem Police said.
The conversation continued the following week when Karch requested to meet the 13-year-old for a sexual encounter and then asked again for nude photographs. He continued to describe all of the sexual acts he wanted to perform on her in explicit detail and told her that he wanted her to call him “daddy” while she performed sexual acts on him, the criminal complaint alleges.
On September 11, 2025, Karch took a SEPTA bus from his home in Jenkintown to meet with the child in Bensalem. Upon arrival, Bensalem Township Police Officers took Karch into custody and discovered that he had condoms that he brought with him for the sexual encounter. No children were in danger during this investigation, investigators said.
Karch was charged with attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of children/photo, corruption of minors, criminal use of a communication facility, and related offenses.
Karch was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $10,000,000 bail.
He is scheduled for a September 24 preliminary hearing date and currently has no attorney of record.
